An extraordinary piece based on Raag Basant, a simple beat and two brilliant singers

Hi,

yes this is a beautiful ecample. By the way, do you have any information about Malika pukhraj. Or old recordings for that matter? I was listening to a ghazal - taskeen ko hum na - recorded by AIR. It was fantastic!

Besides is raag bahar the same as basant? Here's a great example in K.L. Saigal's Tansen (1942):

Why don't films use such beautiful music these days?

There is only a single thread of Basant here, by the way.

Its otherwise a medley of different Raags.

Basant and Bahar are different Raags, but they can come together very brilliantly as Basant Bahar, a horribly difficult but lovely Raag.

Unfortunately I do not know much about Malika or Tahire, so I could not say. I shall look around though.
