The first book took about six months to finish, but took two years between revision, acceptance and finally release. It hasn't really moved a great deal, so say the Publishers, because I guess its a niche book. Its a novel based on twenty different Indian Classical raagas (scales). The Publisher is Rupa & Co., New Delhi.
The reviews were not too bad, I guess.

Hi I love 'What the Raags told me' and I hope that you write more about raags and in particular the depth of raags as you have.
I am currently writing my dissertation on Raag Ramkali and have quoted your chapter many times. I am also an Indian music teacher and all our students have bought copies of it!
There are not many people who can appreciate music this way, please keep going!

Im Amanroop Kaur, and I am from Raj Academy of Asian Music. Our academy specialises in Gurmat Sangeet (Sikh music) and in traditional Sikh Instruments - sarangi, saranda, taus, dilruba, rabab and jori. We are taught about raags in a way that is similar to the structure of your book!!
